Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Renton is in Washington, in the Pacific Northwest, where winters are mild and wet, summers are dry and pleasant, and outdoor recreation drives a lot of local business; hours change little through the year. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Renton follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I think was scammed. I was charged $800 for hose and head AC replacements. Ok, fine but I had to get on the road and get started on a 6 hour drive home. But about 30 minutes into driving the car I realized the AC wasnβt working. Brought it back and was told the condenser was broken as well, and that it would be very difficult to fix and cost over $1200. Why was this not found on the first inspection? Just seems super shady. Iβd stay away.

You know no one ever likes taking their car in to get serviced, but the folks at Mike's Auto made it a pleasure! Great customer service, awesome communication and just general all around good service. Ben even gave me a ride home after I dropped off my car. It doesnβt get any better!!

I decided to have my transaxle fluid and filter replaced before a long, cross country drive. Mike's worked me in the same day. Mid-way thru my 3,000 mile trip I started hearing noise and so I pulled it into a station. There were 5 bolts and splash guard retainers missing and the splash guard was flapping and about to be ripped off. So i had to install replacement parts and continue on my way. I don't have any issues with the transaxle work, but it is unsettling because now I have to wonder about quality in this regard. Also, when I asked about oil on my oil change also done, I basically received non-answers. I was an aircraft mechanic and have also worked in the auto industry. I don't appreciate the responses that I received. Rating was 3-star for typical high price, concerns on retaining screws and bolts and lack of useful answers to my questions.
